STYLE FILE: Margot Robbie
Posted on May 30 2019
I think that I am yet to come across a woman (or man) who does not have even the slightest girl crush on Margot Robbie. She's proven herself a force to be reckoned with on screen and in the producers chair, no doubt, but what seems to be the reason behind the world's infatuation with her, in my opinion, has to be that cool girl Australian charm; that inimitable, seemingly unattainable charisma that she seems to exude in every interview, every public appearance and throughout her scarce social media footprint. It's a vibe that so many strive for, and so many fail to succeed in. Walking that line between mega movie star and girl next door. It's what we love about her; the way she can make us feel like we could be best mates, whilst simultaneously going to work everyday with Brad and Leo like it's no big deal.
But to me, it's how Margot's adaptable, down to earth and bubbly personality translates to her style. Pulling off high end couture fashion one day, and bohemian overalls the next. She's regularly snapped at the beach looking relaxed, tanned and like she's walked straight off the set off Blue Crush with a frangipani behind her ear, or at the airport jet-setting between countries in the perfect travel outfit, balancing comfort and style like a pro.
Frequently we see her dashing to and from movie sets looking effortlessly chic, like she's just thrown together a look in 5 minutes that would take the rest of us hours to achieve. And then there's the red carpet, where our favourite neighbour embodies the magic and glam of an old school screen siren who's also spent the day at the beach and still has salt in her hair.
At Coltish, Margot's style mirrors the essence of our brand. Coltish is for the beach loving babe who never chases a good time, but let's the good times come to her. For the hard working, goal hustling girl boss who clocks off on the weekends and goes off the grid in comfort and style. And for the down to earth dazzler who loves a sustainably & ethically produced piece of clothing, who doesn't bow down to trends-of-the-moment (goodbye, bike shorts!) and who knows that it's cool to be kind - to others, to yourself, and to this beautiful earth.
Here, I share some of my favourite Margot looks from street style to the red carpet.
